Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is the pregnancy calculator?
The calculator provides an estimate based on a standard 280-day (40-week) pregnancy. Only 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. Most babies arrive within 2 weeks before or after the estimated date.
What is LMP and why is it used?
LMP (Last Menstrual Period) is the first day of your last period. It is used because it is easier to remember than conception date. Doctors add 280 days (40 weeks) to LMP to estimate due date.
Can my due date change?
Yes, your doctor may adjust the due date based on ultrasound measurements, especially in the first trimester. Early ultrasounds (before 13 weeks) are most accurate for dating pregnancy.
